Welcome Dogs!

Welcome to the online home for Dog Wants Out, a group of local musicians from mid-Maine who love music, value local food, and believe in community.

 
Dog Wants Out is a community music project currently dedicated to supporting and promoting local food events through a growing season tour of Maine farmer's markets and local food events. 
 
DWO plays Alternative Funtry Music with a folk sensibility.  Our set list is designed to provide hum-along opportunities for the farmer's market crowd and includes tunes like "Big Green Tractor," "Melt with You," "Red Clay Halo," "Who's Your Farmer?," and "Harvest Moon."

  • Good Times in Belfast! Thanks to Polly at Village Farm for inviting us to play at this past Sunday's CSA/CSF Fair at the UU Church in Belfast.  And thanks to The Wildcardz for joining us in supporting local agriculture (and aquaculture).   Ready for spring, and as I said at the fair on Sunday, I consider this the start of the growing season.   Grow tomatoes grow!

  • Fun at Common Ground What better way to begin the close of the 2009 Farmer's Market Tour than to play Common Ground?  DWO played two well-attended shows in the sun at Common Ground on Saturday.  Thanks to Lucy and Tim for organizing.  DWO hearts MOFGA!

  • Busy Dogs Ahead! DWO is looking forward to a string of fun shows in the weeks ahead: Camden Farmer's Market on Saturday - Flannery Brothers are joining the Farmer's Market Tour and our old friend Dave O will be sitting in on some tunes. Common Ground Country Fair - Next Saturday.  We'll be roving near the Farmer's Market at 1:30 and 4:30 Arts for Hunger - Oct. 3 @ Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts

  • Lincolnville Benefit Last night was a great night for community music in Lincolnville.  DWO was honored to participate in a night of music, juggling, song, drumming, and dance to support a great local family.  Thanks to Pat, Amanda, and everyone who organized and invited!
