Music with Purpose!

Dog Wants Out is a music group from Unity, Maine currently dedicated to supporting and promoting local food events through a growing season tour of Maine farmer's markets and local food events.

DWO is very proud to be part of the WERU Community Radio family.

DWO is an initiative of the Maine Community Music Project, a Unity Barn Raiser's Program.

All members of DWO are big Unity College supporters (staff, faculty, alumni, etc.)  And we appreciate all the support that Unity gives DWO.

Good Dog!

Welcome to the pack!  Dog Wants Out, a group of local musicians from mid-Maine who love music, value local food, and believe in community.

If Dolly Parton and John Prine had local-food-loving babies they might grow up to be the members of Dog Wants Out…

Playful and toe-tapping originals and favorites for the farmer's market crowd--Dog Wants Out engages the audience in contemporary folk, old-school country, and new-fangled-old-timey favorites.

Music on a mission! Dog Wants Out is a non-profit Maine band making music in support of community and local agriculture. Dog Wants Out is an initiative of the Maine Community Music Project and a media partner of WERU Community Radio.

Dog Wants Out is currently recording "The Farm Market Waltz," our first studio CD of original music inspired by folks who grow and appreciate local food: The Farm Market Waltz. "The Farm Market Waltz" is produced by the Maine Community Music Project as a fund-raising project for community music and local food non-profits.
